In January 2004 I took over the practice of colleague Schut. He had established his practice on Hereweg. I then moved into the current building on Radesingel. Besides working as a GP, I am currently working at the Faculty of Medicine. As a coach I supervise a number of first-year students and as a teacher I teach interns at the KTC (clinical training centre).

I enjoy working as a doctor. In addition to the close contact with a very diverse group of people, I find the medical content very fascinating. I experience my work as responsible, as my assessments and decisions can have far-reaching consequences for my patients. In my work I am mainly driven by the need to really meet people and help them in their problems.

Besides my work, music is my big hobby. I am involved in organizing the organ concerts in the Martini Church here. I also make many CD recordings of good musicians. I play the piano and organ myself. I also love photography and being in nature with my boat or racing bike. I visit the alps regularly: skiing during the winters and in the summer I like climbing mountains there.

My name is Tjitte Verbeek van Buuren. I work in general practice Radesingel as a general practitioner and practice owner. Since June 2018 I have a regular consultation hour for patients in our practice.

In addition, as a medical examiner, I perform (driving license) examinations for the CBR, among others. I do this for patients from our own practice and beyond.

As my first name may have suggested to you, I am of Frisian descent. I was born in the small village of Warns and raised in Wommels. After finishing the gymnasium in Sneek, I moved to Groningen to study Medicine. During my studies I was very involved in education: besides attending lectures, I taught younger students. In addition, I obtained my PhD on research into the effects of psychological stress during pregnancy on the child. Teaching, research and innovation are still things I like to do next to the general practitioner profession.

In addition to my work in our general practice, I work as a post-doc researcher at the University Medical Center Groningen and I am involved in healthcare innovations.

I got married in 2016 with my wife Lianne, who is also a GP. Together we have a son and a daughter.

But the diversity of the general practitioner profession appealed to her the most.

After the general practitioner training she was ready for some more adventure and she worked for a year in a disadvantaged practice in New Zealand. After having lived and observed in Groningen with her boyfriend for a number of months, she now lives in Wellington, New Zealand for a period.

Doctor Rijndertse remains digitally involved in the general practice on Radesingel. You can meet her via the Digital Doctor's Assistant, via secure email, via video calls or you can read her message in your PGO (Personal Health Environment).
